Jene' Palmer is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with more than three decades of executive, advisory and board-level experience. Her career spans listed and private companies, public-sector and state-related organisations, and non-profit institutions.
She previously served as Group CEO of JSE-listed Spescom Limited, having earlier held the roles of CFO and Group Financial Manager. As CEO, she led a turnaround that materially improved profitability and reduced gearing, while positioning the group for strategic acquisition. Her subsequent executive and advisory work has continued to focus on strategy, organisational performance, restructuring, risk and sustainable value creation.
Jene' is CEO and a director of Palmer Business Concepts and an Executive Director and CFO of CGF Research Institute, where she also leads specialist governance advisory assignments. Her governance work includes independent board and committee evaluations, governance effectiveness and compliance assessments, governance framework design, strategy facilitation and board advisory work.
Her current board leadership experience includes serving as Chairperson of the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and as an independent non-executive director of Sabinet, where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. She holds the Competent Boards Sustainability & ESG Designation and Certification (GCB.D).
